Just when I thought I've seen everything in bowling, now I've seen this. My buddy had 532 at the turn, needed 268 for 800. He starts off with the front 9, almost a guaranteed 800, considering he was so locked in. In the 10th, he threw the ball a little too fast, and it was a lighter mixing shot that left a wobbly 5 pin standing. Goes to convert it, and did the same thing...the ball slid by, and missed the 5 pin by not even a 1/4 inch. 267, and a 799 series. I thought he was going to cry.

Nobody misses the five pin, right?! Just kidding, if that happened to me I would not have taken it well at all. I would probably slam my head against a wall.

I'm sure that was a terrible moment. I had 579 in turn one evening, 289, 290 to start, then shot a 211. I had 2 frames where i missed the 10 pin and 4 pin back to back. I wanted to run out of the house.....But I went back the next night, had to hear the **** for a few days, but I still went back. That's the great thing about this game, you will always go back no matter how good or how bad you feel. Stay with it, on any night, you're as good as everyone, on a given evening, you're better than anyone.

I know what you mean, had 577 at the turn a few months ago, opened with 2 strikes, then a blow out 7-10, then couldn't string any strikes together, finished with 215.

Ok, the same guy strikes again. He starts with the front 11. In the 12th frame for 300, the ball sticks to his thumb, he loses control, it goes into the gutter at about 40' down the lane. He was playing deep inside, 4th arrow, swinging out to about 12 and back...so he missed by a ton. So, now I guess I've seen everything!!!!

BTW, the guy still shot 802 for the evening...his 4th 800+ this season.
