Their quality has gone down since Fred Borden left. For the price there is much better stuff out there. I'd rather give Motiv or Lane #1 a shot. And then of course, Storm/Roto/900... all coming out with really good stuff.

The thing I liked about Lanemasters was that the coverstock goes to the core.

There's another new company now, "Radical", just came out with their first ball: Slant

Lanemasters had some issues keeping up with the demand as they were and still are a fairly small company. They are like most other manufacturers with hit and miss products. The best thing to do is go to something like a Storm Open House or something similar to try a ball out to see if it will work for you. Nothing worse than paying $200+ for a ball that does not suit your game or needs.

What's up, Mike, they don't like you at bb.com? Aren't all the rest of your compatriots mods? ;)

I've been away from bowling for few years, and I missed this topic. I love Lanemasters. They don't put out a dozen releases per year. Their coverstock doesn't seem to soak up oil as much as other manufacturers. They also seem to be more durable. I have about 400 games on my Absolute Power, and it still performs as well as the day that I bought it. Bill Hoffman who is a 5 time world amateur champ uses a LM Masterpiece which he has used for years.
