Everyone has a favorite car they have owned, either in the past or right now. What is/was your favorite car that you have owned? What did you like best about it? During what years did you own it? Why did you get rid of it?

I owned a 1978 Datsun 280Z, silver with black interior. I bought it brand new for $8300, and it was the best car, by far, that I ever owned. It handled great, had great getup and go, looked sweet, and ran like a top. 3 years later I had to sell it due to needing the cash...one of the worst days of my life!!

I know what you mean....I had a 1969 GTX 440HP car, was very fast, like new and handled great for a car that size and weight. My first wife's brother wanted to buy it, and I needed the money....So I said>>>Only if you let me buy it back when you are ready to sell it, and I will buy it back for what ever amount you have tied up in it and I want it notorized!! That you cannot sell it to anyone but me!!..>>>>He said >>>awww I'm your brother inlaw you can trust me!!

Stupid me done the deal without having it written up that he could only sell the car back to me, and I was screwed as he sold the car to a collector 30 days later!! I was so mad I could have chewed nails!!

I learn the hard way that you cannot trust anyone...family or not!! :(

That was one nice ride that I wish I had never sold!! Sad what you must do when you are hurting for money.

I had a 2006 350z that I loved, but like you guys needed the cash so I sold it :(. Guess it works out because of the gas prices and my insurance cutting by half.

I had a 93 Civic which was my first new car. I had it for about 14 years until an SUV smashed into it. If it weren't for that accident, I would probably still have it. It ran great and didn't cause any problems or have any unexpected, expensive repairs. It wasn't fast (obviously), but I could whip around corners like crazy.

My 2001 Camaro SS. It was a monster, but at only 8 mpg it was far from practical.

With gas prices the way they are, 8 mpg would make me stay home everyday.

For me it's my 2007 BMW 328i.

Hmmm....missed this thread as it was slightly old. My favorite I think was an old Saab I had several years ago. Loved the thing despite mechanical issues and quirks. I'm currently driving a new Camry (0% finance over 5 years and servicing included made it hard to say no) and although comfortable enough and reliable it really does have no 'soul'.

!970, 351 Cleveland, Mach 1, I ordered just before ending my second trip to Vietnam. Shaker hood scoop, Rear window louvers, Close ratio 4 speed. And still only 20 years old.

Some memories you never forget.

I have had a couple of cars that were my best cars and I just wish I still owned them
first one was a 1965 Dodge Cornet 500 with a 383 magnum and a 4 speed. I rebuilt the
motor and put in all the goodies and it would absolutely shake the ground and rattle all
of the neighbors windows even idling at 2000 RPM's the cam was still lopping and was
still hitting a hard lick. Second was my 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 magnum with dual
quad 4bbl carbs and automatic transmission and built to the hilt as the old saying goes.
I could be doing 60 or 70 MPH down the highway and just stomp on the gas and catch
passing gear and it would just start to smoke those size F60 rear tires. I had to put some
Mickey Thompson I believe the size was called F50 tires on the back to ever get traction
on the highway so I could use passing gear and those things were something like 18 or 19"
wide but from a stand still take off it would still smoke them too.

I would say the vehicle that I own right now. I bought my fathers 01 F150 supercab from my Mom after good ol dad died. I cannot say that it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned but it is the newest and nicest besides being from my dad.
