I know it can be very difficult to recommend a bowling ball for a bowler without seeing their style, but I am looking to buy a new ball for my dad as a birthday present and am not sure what he needs as I it seems most companies don't feel how early a ball breaks to be a critical decision factor.

What I'm looking for is a ball that has an early break point and a skid/snap break style. My dad has more of an up and in bowling style instead of crossing the center of the lane and is looking for a heavy oil ball. What I have looked at so far are:

Brunswick - Lethal Revolver
Brunswick - Evil Seige
Brunswick - Wicked Siege
Motiv - Raptor P7
RotoGrip - Critical Theory
Storm - Reign of Fire

Best as I can figure these are early breaking balls with a good backend and hard drive. If others could give me a little more info or some other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, what you said you're looking for contradicts itself somewhat. Early roll and skid/snap aren't really two attributes that go together. For a ball to skid means for it to get down the lane. Now, maybe you mean you're looking for an angular reaction? For something earlier rolling with an angular reaction, the Raptor or NANO are your best bets. The Raptor will get down the lane a little farther than the NANO, but that can be changed by altering the surface.

Thanks Mayor. I thought about that as I was posting but didn't know how else to put it. You are exactly right though I'm looking for an early break with an angular break point. I've already looked at the raptor so I'll give the NANO a look. Thanks a lot.

Nano and Raptor are both good choices Another ball to consider would be the Ban Roll from 900Global A plus for the Bank Roll is if you shoot 300 or 800 they pay you money
