Hi everyone. Just asking if we are a lot of canadian bowlers here?
Also, I'd like to know if the prices in your local pro shops are great or not compared to the prices seen on internet on bowlingballs.com ? For example, last year I bought a C-System Alpha Max. Drilling, thumb slug and figer tips included, it costs me 300$. How does it cost in USA?
Thanks!

Most pro shops will charge roughly 40-50 dollars for drilling, inserts, and thumb slug. A lot of times though, they will discount the inserts and/or the thumb slug. My local pro shop charges $209 for a Taboo Blue/Silver with drilling. They normally throw in the inserts and slug and take off the 9 dollars, making it an even 200. I'm not sure how much a C-System Alpha Max would cost as they don't carry them in store anymore.

Im not sure there are many Canadians on the board but there all more then welcome! Do alot of people in Canada bowl? As for the pro shop pricing I can get a alpha max for about 159.99 + 30 for drilling and inserts...it all just depends on the pro shop.

What costs so much in Canada? Is it the ball itself, or the drilling also?

@HunterRunsIt : Bowling has been most popular in the 80s and 90s. In my town of around 20 000 people, we already have 2 bowling centers (18 + 16 lanes). In small places around (50km around my town), there are 4 other centers with 8-10 lanes. Today, there is only 18 lanes remaining in town.
@StormGirl : I think that the ball itself costs much more. For example, my C-System that costs me 300$ taxes and drilling included, I think that the ball itself was around 240$.

Yes, the ball will cost more because it costs the pro shop more to ship it into Canada. In the US, an alpha-max should run around $200 with drilling.

Wow that's pretty steep. I can't imagine ever spending that kind of money on a bowling ball =/. I had no idea shipping to Canada was so expensive!

Custom fees and brokerage fees are often very expensive.

Yeah, v33dubfox it's sad to see bowling centers close I know when I lived in california a brunswick center shut down because of the poor customer flow the economic depression hurts everywhere.
