Last Chance to Sign Up for the PBA World Championship
Seattle, WA - 10/10/2008

The 2008-09 Lumber Liquidators Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour will commence its 50th anniversary tour season with a Major – the PBA World Championship- to be held at Northrock Lanes in Wichita, Kansas, Sunday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 26. The live ESPN-televised finals will take place at Noon CT on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Monday, Oct. 13 marks the deadline for submitting entries without paying a $50 late fee. Anyone signing up for the tournament onsite will pay a $100 late fee. Be sure to sign up today to avoid such penalties.

The PBA World Championships will feature a $250,000 prize fund, one of the biggest prize funds on the PBA Tour. Enter today to claim a piece of the action.

See how you match up against bowling’s biggest names. Bowlers competing in this year’s event include The Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour’s all-time titles leader, Walter Ray Williams Jr., as well as 2007-08 PBA Player of the Year Chris Barnes. Joining them will be PBA Tour stars including Tommy Jones, Wes Malott, last year’s rookie stand-out Rhino Page and hometown favorite Sean Rash, plus veteran standouts Norm Duke and Pete Weber.

Duke is defending champion of the event, winning the Denny’s World Championship last season in Indianapolis, Ind. In the 2007-2008 season, on the verge of losing his exemption, Duke rallied back from injuries to fashion one of the greatest late-season runs in PBA history, winning the final two Majors of the season. His victories at the Denny’s World Championship and 65th Denny’s U.S. Open secured a three-season exemption on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour.

The PBA World Championship marks the first Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour event to be held in Wichita since Dave D'Entremont won the 2002 PBA Wichita Open.
