Bowl.com access to be limited when Internet technology system moves to Texas

10/15/2008

Bowl.com visitors will experience temporary service disruptions in the coming days as USBC Headquarters moves its Internet technology infrastructure from Wisconsin to Texas.

From 6 p.m. Central Time on Thursday through Saturday, bowl.com will function as a "read only" site where you'll be able to look up previously posted information. However, you will not be able to fill out forms, update league standings or buy merchandise from the Bowling Store and USBC will not process memberships, awards or run WinLABS batches.

In addition, USBC's e-mail system will not be functioning from Thursday night through the weekend. No e-mail will be lost, but delivery will be delayed until the server is back online. The USBC Call Center will not be able to make inquiries requiring database searches during this time. USBC's phone system, including the (800) 514-BOWL toll-free number, will still operate as normal.

"USBC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause our members and thanks them for their understanding and cooperation as the organization prepares for this exciting time in the bowling industry," said USBC President Jeff Bojé. "Our goal is to have IT systems back up and operational on Monday, Oct. 20."

Telephone disruptions are planned for Nov. 11 and 12 when the phone system in Greendale is converted to a new system and transferred to a new provider. The phones will be down during parts of both days, but when service is restored, you will be able to reach everyone at USBC at the same numbers as usual.
