My first post....

I currently use the Storm Hy-Road. It works great on normal (i.e. medium) oil conditions, but I would like something that is more aggressive for heavier oil patterns. I am currently looking at the Marvel Pearl, but I am wondering whether that ball is significantly more aggressive than the Hy-Road? Their stats are fairly similar. Should I go all the way up to a Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl? Keep in mind I am not a high average bowler (185-190). I don't want to buy something that is too aggressive.

Thanks!

The Marvel Pearl is quite a bit more aggressive then the HyRoad. Because you want a ball for heavier oil, I would suggest going to a matte finish ball, not a pearl. Also, I would avoid the Asymetrical cores, like the one in the Nano. I would suggest the Victory Road Solid, or the Marvel. Both work great for me on the heavier patterns without being too much. If you can find a Reign of Fire, that would be a great option too, but was recently discontinued. I do use my Marvel Pearl on heavier patterns, but pearlized equipment can be a bit jumpy off the back of the pattern, and if you don't want the ball to be too aggresive, that could cause you a few problems.

Well I did go with the Marvel Pearl, and I am loving it so far. Prior to getting the ball, I had never bowled a 700 series before. I have since bowled two 700 series (705 and 703) in league play. The ball does exactly what I want it to do.
