The Ball: 15.1Lbs Thrash
The Layout: 3 ½ Pin, Pin placement 2 O’Clock, 1/4 Side-1/8 Finger
The Pattern: 39 FT House, 41 FT Tournament
The Positive: Very aggressive early lane, strong reaction on drier conditions.
The Negative: Does not like oil on the top end.

The Review: As a fan of the QZ2 Backdraft, I was looking very forward to throwing the Thrash as it shares the same weightblock as it. The 1000 Grit finish really give the ball a great early lane read and a much more predictable backend. On the fresher 39 FT pattern the ball really gave you drive and ended up hitting like a tank.

On the longer oil pattern I started running into the problem of a flat back end especially when the lanes started to break down. Of course with a finish like this you have to sort of expect that. Playing deeper inside seemed to hurt this ball and the best course of attack, for my game at least, was to get right and play an up-and-in line in order to get good carry. The heavier to the pocket seemed to be the better in my testing.

For the price point I think that the Thrash is a good buy and a great fresh oil ball into anyone’s bag. While I can’t say this is going to be my go-to ball from Motiv, I still believe this to be a good piece of equipment.
