Every bowler could learn something from Norm! He's the most skilled bowler (in my opinion) to ever throw a ball. The video is quite informative for any level of bowler.

i watched norm on next level bowling and got some good tips from that so this video should be more in depth i guess.

I was also interested in the video, found it somewhere (amazon I think) for 40 bucks. Even if there isn't that much content in the video that will help you personally, it's still less than most coaching sessions...
I think I'm going to grab it soon, myself.

I liked Earl's instructional video better BUT I'm a beginner...I think Norm might be talking about things further along then I am. I just think he gets so excited that he doesn't explain things very well. BTW I believe both of them are on youtube.

There is a 6 lesson plan norm has on you tube, but his "how to bowl competitively" is a 20 (or so) lesson DVD, definitely not on you tube. I haven't looked into Earl's (I assume you mean Earl Anthony?), and while undoubtedly one of the most fantastic bowlers to ever play the game, it's a completely different game these days.

I have seen Norm's video and believe it is geared for both the novice and the advanced player. Each lesson is tailored to a specific topic and can be played as often as need be. There is also an automatic feature that will step you thru all lessons, one at a time. As someone said before, $60 is still cheaper than hiring a personal coach.

True, but like I said I think it's more lined up for beginners and what he teaches is the basic approaches, form, and spare shooting that can still be used today.

My dad got it and told me about it yesterday. He said he has tons of info for every skill level. Probably geared more towards the skilled bowler but something for everyone. He said he had to rewatch it a few times with a note book to catch everything. My father has owned bowling centers since the 70s and was on the tour for a few years, been a pro shop owner for 30 years now. It will have something for EVERYONE.

Try finding some of Fred Borden's videos as well. I subscribed to Mybowlingcoach.com for a year and learned a lot from their lessons. They cater to everyone from Novice to Advanced bowlers. You can find some of his videos on Bowltech.com

Just watched the whole thing...it's pretty awesome and can be used for beginners, intermediate, or advanced IMO. He gives a pretty thorough lesson on how to read oil patterns and when to adjust to the inside our outside part of the lane. I thought it was fairly entertaining as well...Norm is a friggin goofball.
