I'm a casual weekend bowler, but looking to play in casual leagues during the week. I used to bowl twice a week years ago. And i bowled in leagues as a kid. Anyway, i had a Hammer Big Block Diesel for years, but the cover has cracked completely in half. I'm looking for a new ball that is comparable. I would say I'm an average bowler, i use a a finger tip hole layout and have a gradual hook. i usually line up with my right foot between the 2nd and 3rd mark, aim at the first mark and let the ball hook into the pocket. Obviously its been a long time since I've shopped for balls and looking for some suggestions. Wondering if the Hammer balls are prone to cracking like that because my brother had the same ball and the exact same thing happened to his.

I'd say go talk to a local pro shop, it really helped for me. Since your ball is out of commission, he probably has a few test balls that you can throw. Other than that it really depends on how much you want to spend. There are a lot of really nice balls in the mid performance lines for a lot of manufacturers. But pro shop guys know a lot more than me so I'd start there :P good luck!
