1. Am I supposed to feel pressure on my middle and ring fingers as i put my fingers and thumb into the ball? the pressure is against my nails on ring and middle fingers.

2. If my ball is drilled correctly, when i swing my arm to bowl, am i supposed to have no grip? Because when i don't grip it, it will automatically grip onto me as my arm is swinging down.

I'm not conscious of the feeling, but when I bowl, the weight of the ball is supported by my fingertips. Assuming that the thumb hole is the right size, the ball should stay in place as you swing. Sometimes you have to blow into the thumb hole to get a little moisture if you feel the ball is slipping off your thumb. If that isn't enough you might have to add tape.

I do not think you should really feel any pressure against the nails on your fingers
sounds to me like the pitch on your finger holes isn't quite right or the span is a tad
bit to long forcing your fingers back up against the back side of the finger holes when
you stretch your hand and insert your thumb in the thumb hole.

Ahh okay, thanks! :) also, im having trouble putting revolutions on my ball.. I have a shooting star. Is there a guide to what i'm supposed to do? I get the feeling that i'm doing something wrong, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

If the span is too long or the pitches are wrong you will feel what you are feeling. Plus if the fit is bad it can cause you to not get out of the ball clean and thereby not get "revs" on the ball

Where am I supposed to position my pinky? close to my index finger? or more spread out like my index? Do i need to grip my ring and middle fingers at all?

supraman the postion of the pink is where you want to put it that makes the ball feel good in your hand,

for ex: i put my pinky about half a inch away from the fingers on my strike shots but when i go to do my spars shots i put it right up agenst my fingers soo i can get a good slid across the lane with any ball even my high performance balls.

soo the thign you should go do is go practice bowl a couple games and change the spot of your pinky and find the right spot for it.

also your saying u are having touble putting revs on the ball most things will tell you to put your hand under the ball but yes thats what u want to do but work to it soo u dont hurt yourself, and making it feel like your going to drop the ball goo move your hand from where your hands at know to under the ball every throw alittle at a time, but if it feels weird on one throw bakc upmabit and do more throws there then go back under it.

i did that and it helps me out alot cause i use to be a high revs bowlers with only half thumb in the thumb hole and know i got full thumb in and a good backswing, but it took me awhile to get the revs back cause i had to get my accuracy back too but i did not want to go all accuracy for when i get revs back i lose my accuracy again soo i did alittleaccuracy alittle revs very time i bowled and your mussle memorie will remmember it.

Heres a link to Ron Cliftons tips on fingers called "finger Dancing" should give you the info.

http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip11.htm (http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip11.htm)

Theres 3 basic positions for the pinky.

1-Tucked
2-Flat & Tight next to ring finger
3-Spreadout

Flat & Tight next to the ring finger is the basic position, with the index finger slightly spread.

Pinky spreadout is for when you want a weaker backend. Like when trying to throw a straight ball.

Tucked is supposed to give you a little stronger backend.

Revs come with practice, take a small kids nerf football, throw a under spiral. Its the same hand motion you use to put revs on a ball.

Here good article about revs.

Take your thumb out! That'll help you get revs. :)

Your thumb should not have pressure or grip. I tend to grip on my backswing but am conscience of taking the grip out on my downswing, releasing my thumb as early as possible. This allows the bowl to roll off the fingertips as I rotate my fingers. The underhand nerf football spiral is an excellent training technique.

yeah billf i do the same thing alittle grip on the backswing soo it dose not fall off my hand but on downswing i hold for a second so i can adjust my wrist but when im adjusted i release my thumb and let it come out on its down right befor the throw never use to do that cause i had to grip with my thumb cause i was only a half a thumb and i used part of my thumb to give me alittle extra roation on the ball but it lacked my accuracy abit

Del Ballard once said that while recording bowlers he noticed that on average, amateurs released their thumb one frame later than the professionals. It doesn't sound like much but it's the little things that separates the pros from the joes.
