I have a 15lb jet black Taboo & was looking to get it painted. All I want to do is paint one bold stripe splitting the ball in half. Something like the old shelby gt500 stripe.

what kind of spray paint should I use & what is the procedure for something like this? I know I should sand it & then spray a good 3-4 layers.. has anybody done something like this? and would that effect the ball's hook or something? heres the ball i have http://www.bowlingball.com/products/...Jet-Black.html

RingMaster,

Do you bowl in a league? If so, this is illegal to do. Not only is it not permitted, it will effect the reaction of the ball. The painted area won't grip the lane while the black will so you'll get a very inconsistent reaction. Please DON'T paint your ball! That's why they make cool spare balls, you can have whatever design you want on them (as long as that's the way the ball is produced, still no paint allowed).

ringmaster dont paint your ball cause if you even use it and anyone sees it they can take it and u wont get it back untill the end of the league or untill the paints off it

Yeah to put paint on your bowling ball now that is strictly against USBC rules
not to mention what the bowling center proprietor might have to say about it
if the paint were to come off and mess up their equipment or something.
