The PBA has been “Rolling Strong” for fifty years, with the 2008-2009 season marking the 50th Anniversary of the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Tour took a trip down memory lane and revisited each decade of PBA history in a series of photos and videos featuring PBA stars Tommy Jones, Norm Duke, Walter Ray Williams, Jr., Rhino Page and Sean Rash. The five men celebrated the golden anniversary in style by participating in a commemorative photo shoot that found them in some outrageous costumes and hairstyles.

PBA Player of the Year for 2006-07 Tommy Jones took a trip back to the “Happy Days” of the 1950s with a clean-cut look reminiscent of Buddy Holly. Norm Duke, the 1994 and 2000 PBA Player of the Year, was transformed into a long-haired, peace-loving flower child that could easily be mistaken for John Lennon.

Meanwhile, it was Saturday Night Fever for the PBA Tour’s all-time titlist Walter Ray Williams, Jr. and 2007-08 PBA Rookie of the Year Rhino Page as they unleashed their inner Travoltas and donned disco-themed gear to represent the 1970s.

Sean Rash, winner of the 2007-08 USBC Masters tournament, immersed himself into the decade in which he was born: the 1980s. His giant, feathered hairstyle for the shoot would have fit in quite well with Bon Jovi, Motley Crue or Poison. “I took one for the team with this shoot!” said Rash of his outrageous getup.

In addition to the photo shoot, video footage of each current bowler was treated to look like it came from their corresponding specific decade. Additionally, archival bowling footage was used for the project. In some cases, the footage was created to assimilate the current players competing against legends from each bygone decade.

Be on the lookout for these crazy videos that will air on ESPN to promote the broadcast of the PBA Tour’s 50th Anniversary season.
