My Uncle was in the Air Force for 25 years, retired Comand Sgt Major! He was in his early 40's,,, after getting out. He then got a job with the post office, and has been working there since. He will have that retirement also when he decides to get out! He lives in AZ,,,, nice house with in ground pool, living the good life!! My uncle is actually younger then me. I believe he is in his late 50's!

I would have had to go to the Swiss Army 7 years ago (dual US/CH citizen) since I live here, but I was declared unfit for service because of my right eye. Best part about it was that I was also declared unfit for the national guard type service as well (that would have really sucked.....the same 21 week boot camp type deal, just without the free assault rifle at the end).

So everyone in the army gets a free assault rifle? I thought they just gave you a knife with all those gadgets

US Coast Guard, BM2(Boatswains Mate Second Class), Or E-5 for those who dont know Coast Guard/Navy rankings. Spent 10 years of my life in doing every mission the Coast Guard does, from SAR to Humanitarian to Law Enforcement. Semper Paratus!

I would like to see all units deactivated, all over the world!! While State side, we were located in keline tX. Same place Elvis was stationed state side! I remember a old small church on post, that they converted into a museum, with lots of pictures, and artifacts related to Elvis!! I still have the Hell on Wheels patch! Good and bad memories of the unit! ( like that song, can't remember the title, "War, what is it good for, Absolutely NOTHING"! My thoughts on the matter. Yes I think I heard a while back that they did deactivate!

I can't stand all the politics of war but I do understand the reason for them, when the reason is upholding democracy and protecting a sovereign nation either here or abroad. Take the fight to then and don't let it come to your home. Our government elected officials have abused the military since after Korea and it has shown with each conflict/war since.

Yes I would have to say that 1840lbs of C4 would definitely make
a great big boom and a great big hole in the ground too.

Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. Even thought I was stationed on an Aircraft Carrier, I did in fact spend 31 days in Viet Nam in 65' just the start of things mostly. I was on a PT boat, and it was hell almost everyday. I saw bad stuff and did bad stuff. But i am glad that part of my life is over.
