im not sure if there is a thread on this or not.
how dose everyone get rid of there stress from bowling what do you guys do.

me if i ever get stressed from bowling from like a few bad shots in a row or from someone walking up on me i normaly go for a walk and lissen to music it sometimes works but not always, manily works for the bad shots, meaning as bad shots leaving up splits not leaving easy spares but missing a easy spare that gets on my nerves.

soo how dose everyone get over it.

Bowling IS my stress relief. I've been in the position before where my decisions could cost people their life. Picking four guys out of twenty-eight, that's real stress. Life is challenging, bowling can be frustrating but it's nothing compared to sending your friends to do a job that they aren't expected to return from.

For bad shots, I try to learn from it. Why did it happen? Did I misjudge the lane? Did I miss my mark? Why?

If I got distracted by somebody, I make sure I focus more on the next shot.

And I'm with Bill, bowling is a stress relief.

As getting rid of stress in an any day situation, listening to my metal music or playing drums helps me de-stress in a big way.

As for bowling when I am stressed and not doing well, I try my best to think of something funny, or think of something not related to the game. It is tough for me, but I do the best I can.

thats pretty good stuff you guys have to deal with i understand why bowling is your stress relief but with me missing a shot is msotly my 10pins i just dont seem to beable to make it on any adjust ment i make i always end up throw it to the gutter soo that stresses me i hit it a few time on luck.

i with i could throw my spares like i use to with just my thumb then i would not have a problem at all with 10pins.

Like some of the other guys, bowling is my stress relief. If I miss a spare or roll a split, I'm usually analyzing the last shot to think about what caused the miss, and what I can do to fix it next time. That's not to say I never get frustrated while bowling.....of course I do. When that happens I usually just close my eyes and take a few deep breaths, and try to calm back down.

When my game falls apart or I have a really bad shot, it's just a simple matter of me stopping my mental process and telling myself that the problem is between my ears and the only way to fix it is to relax, breathe, bowl effortlessly and enjoy the game.

I repeat that as I prepare for the next few shots. Relax. Breathe. No effort. Enjoy it.

I can't say it will work for you, but it does "reset" me.

yeah swingset i have tryed that and it dose not work too great for me but i went up bowling tonight did 4 game 2 main, 2 pressure momment games.

1st game for a pressure momment made my self have all kinds of bad shots and lots of missing my spares on purpes only shot a 113 that game and it got me abit out of it.

2nd game i was breathing and having a drink on every shot and i did better got a 189 made 3/4 of the spares the rest i missed where spltis but the 7-10 ik i cant make them.

3rd game i did the same as the 1st game pressured my self into a bad game and bad shots.

4th game got a new way to stay relaxed i had to drink let and did not want to buy a new one caus ei was trying a new method and i was chewing on the straw frm my drink and breathing(kinda) and i shot a 235.

soo im going to take a new straw to bowling every time and see what happens.
