At the pro shop all they carry is colombia, ebonite, track, hammer, and wd. I know that there are other balls out there and I am wanting to get a few. The problem I am having is noone in the two houses around me throw anything but those pretty much. For instance I think I seen one guy with storm but I have never seen roto grip, motiv, brunswick, or any other name brands. So I am asking yall to help me out on maybe seeing if I would like another brand. I seen videos of different companies but would like to know what some of the people are throwing here and why?
Thanks

I personally think Columbia makes a very good line of products (which includes the WD, or White Dot as it is more commonly called). Brunswick makes an excellent line of equipment as well, and I even think that the DV8 brans is a Brunswick line as well, though I may be mistaken. As for me, I have been throwing Roto Grip and Storm stuff since I got back into the game this year.
I like Storm and Roto Grip because they tend to give me a very good and consistent reaction (and might I add STRONG reaction). IMHO< they are also a very high quality line of balls. I have yet to throw a Brunswick/DV8 in my "comeback" but i am thrilled that I will get ot do so shortly as I await the rrival of the Brunswick Nexxus I recently won here on the Bowling Boards. You will gind a whole crew of people here that believe that DV8 makes the best stuff around and I would not doubt their word as some of the folks here that throw DV* seem to be highly knowledgeable people. If I were you, I would go to Bowlingball.com and check out their line of bowling balls. They have just about everything and the staff there is extremely helpful. Here is their URL...http://www.bowlingball.com/

DV8 is a Brunswick company. It seems that Brunswick realized that their brand wasn't appealing to newer bowlers and veteran bowlers would take too long to realize the new advances. I throw DV8 Hell Raiser Revenge (1 pin up & polished, 1 pin down oob), Reckless and Misfit. I also use Brunswick Nexxus (won from this site), Storm Ice (plastic spare ball). I have in the past used Storm and Roto-Grip until this past January. I also have used Hammer Hawg, Big Rig Diesel and Track The Rising. In all honesty, I am the happiest with the DV8 balls. I like and need the angular motion to the pocket and the extreme hitting ability.

I think Columbia 300, Ebonite, Track, and Hammer are all sister brands with the same parent company. My first reactive resin ball was a used Track Delta Rule. My second was a used Hammer Black Widow. Both were bought because they were an inexpensive way to try some thing different. Since then I have gotten a White dot, a Storm VG Nano, a DV8 Hellraiser, a Storm Hyroad and another VG Nano. My only complaints are that the White dot started chipping around the finger holes after only two or three seasons, and that the Nanos seem react very differently to subtle variations in delivery.

I have looked hard at roto grip and DV8 and both brands looks like great balls. I do like the way Critical Theory that RG put out looks and rolls on video.

See if there is a pro shop in your area that has any balls drilled to try. My local pro doesn't but the one I use 40 miles away does. It's a good way to see if the roll works as well for you as it does in an edited video.
After my experience with Storm/Roto-Grip match maker events I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

One guy isnt drilling balls near me anymore I think he was called bowlers choice and theres only one other guy that I am aware of so I miight have to check him out. Other than that its just mccorvey which arent bad people but they have no balls you can practice with to see if you might like it or not. I am still looking around and seems like a lot of people like track, hammer, and DV8
