Any body seen the drill layout before???

Has anybody seen this layout before??? Pro shop guy said it should work but i went to bowl after a 5 team league so the track area was pretty burned but when i threw it just kept going and neve came up the whole first game. I throw it about 18.5 with about 350-375 revs. should i get it redrilled or am i doing soemthing wrong?

Given if that dot at the top of the picture is the pin. That ball looks like a second/x-out .

Assuming you have a average PAP location. That pin is in Zone #6 which is the weakest reaction on lane one.
And that pin position is very high.
A "high" pin position means that the pin is located up towards the top of the ball. The higher the pin is placed, the longer the ball will go down the lane before it changes direction. One must be careful, for if the pin is placed too high, the ball will go too long and will change direction too late, if at all.

Plus that looks like a pearl panther which is a pearl so it will go long to begin with.

Everything there says all length. I'd redrill, but with that long pin might make it tough.

I'd project the pin to the anti pin position and see what kind of cg to pin distance that gives you. If it was less than the pin length now, I'd use it to lay out the ball, for more hook.

I went to the shop today and told him what was going and he said he was going to take some side weight and some finger weight out and that this would make it better. Is he just trying to put a band aid on it cause he doesnt want to redrill it or will this actually have an effect?

Wouldn't do anything three pin needs to be dropped. ..unless you drop the coverstock but even then might not make much of a difference because it's a weaker piece in the first place ...no oil would be what you need for movement lol

By removing finger weight and side weight, he will cut down flair and get the ball to smooth out the reaction. Since it probably isn't reacting enough, that is not going to fix it most times. If the ball isn't hooking, you could put a weight hole below the mid grip to get the ball to react sooner. Truthfully, I would say to redrill it, and you may just have to put a weight hole next to the thumb to compensate for the massive thumb weight that will be there due to the pro pin. I would throw it slow and see if it ever reacts. If it does, then put the weight hole down two inches below the mid grip. if it still goes straight, redrill completely.

Thanks posters!! Appreciate the help. Took it to a house near me with old wood lanes to see if have any reaction their. The THS is only 35' so i expected some kind of reaction and it did but it there was no skid flip it was just a nice smooth arc which in this case is not even close to what im looking for. So i guess im off the get double thumb hole layout. Now i just have to find someone who can do it cause the guy who drilled said he doesnt know how.

Get that ball redrilled by somebody with a clue and turn that impost in to the BBB.
