I know exactly what you guys are talking about. Around 3 months ago the lane machine here at Cypress broke down and they had to get a replacement. This machine was terrible!! the oil was spread in spurts around the lane and they were soooo dry. Of course bowling on them for two months in this condition, people had to find new lines.

When the other machine was working again, people started complaining about how wet they were and how much carry down there was. I have been a recent victim of the flat 10 in the 3rd game. I left 6 the other night just in the last game alone.

To fix this, I started throwing straight up 5 lofting the ball about 4 feet or so. This caused it to read a little earlier and come flush instead of getting stuck in the sloppiness.

I know exactly what you are talking about as we have the same problem at our local AMF center! They have changed lane oils, changed lane machines, have made adjustments to the lane machine & still there is too much carry down!!!

They need to lower the volume & shorten the oil pattern, but this seems to be too much of a task for them to figure out....LOL

It is truly sad, and it hurts the bowling center in the long run because many serious bowlers leave and never return!! I have been waiting five years for this center to fix this issue, but they cannot seem to fix it. For one they have SPL lanes which are so hard that it makes it difficult to put out a decent shot!! It's good that SPL lanes last for 50 years for the owners, but the ball reaction sucks so bad that that the center has a hard time keeping league bowlers!!

The seniors love it cause they dump the ball on the lane like a rock and don't want it to hook...So they love it!! LOL

dont let them bother you. I had the same problem when I changed from Brunswick back to Columbia. Shoot your shot and tell them to kiss your mule.
