I decided to start this blog for a few varying reasons, some that are solely for personal benefit and some that may in some way assist the random person who stumbles upon this blog. As a personal gain this can be used as a tool to track my changes, thoughts on challenging patterns, and as an easy way to share thoughts with bowling acquaintances. For others this can be used as a tool to think about something in a different way, a reminder of a key fundamental that has been ignored or forgotten, ...

Rangefinder ® system by Brunswick It was invented by Lowell Jackson back in the 1930's "Jackson's poor eyesight was responsible for his most lasting legacy. Because he could not see the pins well, he would often put a pencil dot on the approach to help line up. Eventually, a nitpicking official at a tournament cited the ABC rulebook and made him erase his mark. That got Jackson to thinking. Out on the lanes, bowlers had long ...

what can I say about the totally defiant, colours are nice and for the name it isn't bad either. As for the reaction I have to say that this ball flips very hard. great ball when your looking for that extra flip in the back end. ball gets threw the heads very nice and its even nicer when it decides to make that left turn. recommended lane condition, medium
Rumble Sleeper...WOW, I was extremely surprised, this ball is now the first ball out of my bag on house shots. I use to take the Disturbed out first, but since drilling my Rumbles it's now the first ball out. The Disturbed on some house shots was to strong, but the Rumble is AWESOME. I used the Rumble (box finish) on a house shot playing up the boards, crossing 10th board out to the 5th board with the ball floating through the fronts with a continuous strong arc on the backend. ...
Deranged The Roto Grip DERANGED is the Pearl version of the very popular and successful DISTURBED, which should be enough said. The Deranged has the same smooth roll through the fronts but has a lot stronger backend reaction due to the pearl cover stock. I was excited when I heard that this ball was coming out. I used my Wrecker on several patterns but due to my lower revs with above average ball speed it would squirt a little for me. But now with the Deranged being stronger than ...

Then it's show time, I took the Totally Defiant out and played the same line with trip 4, trip 4 and stone 9. I moved in to 15th board and went out to 7th board and went flush, flush, flush, ...
Just got back from the 2013 Hoinke tourney in Cincinnati and what an eye opener. Bowled this tourney about 6 years ago and cashed in the doubles with a modified house shot. This year made me long for even a sport shot to be put out there. The worst possible condition for me was the reality, a reverse block. I couldn't keep the ball off the headpin no matter how deep I moved inside. Plus, not having the speed needed to keep the ball from overreacting sure didn't help. Thought maybe an outside line ...
The reason we bowl well sometimes to get better and to get control of our game. The reason I bowl is the love of the game and the feeling of control. Life can be very tough and we all need a place or activity that helps and Bowling is my way to deal with the world. Bowling provides me with a great job and customers that love the game. What does bowling give you ?
I'VE OFTEN HEARD IT SAID: ANGELS IN HEAVEN ARE HAVING A BOWLING TOURNAMENT THE LOUD CLASH IS DUE TO THE STRIKES BEING MADE AND THE ROLLING THUNDER ARE THE BALLS ROLLING DOWN THE LANES AND OF COURSE WHEN YOU SEE THE FLASHES OF LIGHTNING YOU KNOW THEY ARE TAKING PICTURES OF THE ANGELS THAT WON THE TOURNAMENT AND THE FALLING RAIN HAPPENS TO BE THE ANGELS TEARS OF JOY BECAUSE THEY ARE SO OVERWHELMED WITH THE THRILL OF BOWLING NOT TO MENTION ...

Well it's been a while since I've posted, but I haven't stopped bowling! My first 4 months of bowling with my own ball I was trying to learn as much as I can with much help from people on here, watching countless videos, and coaches from my son's team. I got a few high games but couldn't stay consistent...hardly ever/if ever hitting the 200+ mark. I joined a winter sports league in late February, and let me tell it was the best thing I ever done for my bowling experience. My highest game was a 198 ...

Wow, can't believe its been over a year since my last entry. This season just came to an end this week and it was quite an eventful one. From a team standpoint, it was very pedestrian finishing in the middle of the pack in both halves. As far as the shot goes, not too much difference from past seasons, with 8 out to about 6 being the norm. A move in to a 12 out to 6 line was needed late in the 2nd game or the beginning of the 3rd, especially when the high school kids were practicing during December-January. ...
Welcome 2 Bowling Clinic time was 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday April 13, 2013 at the International Training and Research Center, Arlington, Texas. I arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m. when my husband dropped me off. I wandered into the front door of the facility pulling my 2 ball duffle roller bag with me. Just inside a short distance were 2 smiling ladies waiting to greet new arrivals they found my name on their list and I was assigned to bowling ...

Some of you are familiar with my story, some may not be. I'll give a quick recap. I bowled 15 years ago, and at that time I was a traditional bowler. I used one hand, with my thumb in the ball like most people. About three and a half years ago, I got back into bowling. While practicing for an upcoming league, I took my thumb out of the ball for a game or two. I liked it. What followed was about 2 years of being a thumbless bowler. I started messing with two handed bowling, and back to using ...
