Boy, I do practice well...

It gets frustrating sometimes. Well, honestly, it gets frustrating a LOT.
We practice Wednesdays, Peej and I. It's Dollar Night, the only time we can really afford to go roll a lot. At a buck a game we can get 5-7 games apiece in, about as much as either of us can stand at one go. The spirit is willing, and all. Usually we end up doing pretty well and I'll get a 200 or two in, pretty good for me.
Then, come league day, I'm back in the 150s again!
Mind you, I should be thrilled with the progress. This time last year I was struggling to shoot in the 140s (no, really) and we were tanking in the standings. This season we're second, two points out of first, and I'm averaging in the 150s. I rolled a 471 this week, Peej shot 393, and we won two out of three plus series. That makes us 24-8 with two weeks left. Not bad.
Still. What we could be doing, were I to do as well in league as I do in practice. I wish like the dickens I could figure out what I do differently. There's so many things I could attribute it to...the awful music they play league day, the presence of others, lane conidtions...I know I will never be a pro, but I'd like to at least get a 200 on a league day, maybe a 500+ series. No, I've not done either of those things. In practice, yes, many times. And Peej has been a revelation, upping his game from a 102 average to the mid 130s. That's quite an improvement!
Now, if only his old man could do so well!
