Practice 24 September

Rate this Entry
Had a pretty bad week last week, and circumstances didn't allow me to get any practice until today (and didn't bowl on Wed due to my wife being sick). (If you want to see any of my blogs for previous weeks, they can be viewed at http://tinyurl.com/art-word-bowling or http://arts-bowling.blogspot.com/.

I started out last week trying to roll on the outside with a week ball, and got nothing but bad breaks, and had no room for error. My team mate recommended moving inside, so I gave it a try. The move was kind of late (midway through the 3rd game) but I finished with 5 in a row for my only deuce. Along with that, I was muscling the ball, not getting the ball out on the lane, and rushing my approach.

So at practice today, I concentrated on not rushing my approach, keeping a lose arm swing and getting the ball out on the lane. I played 3rd arrow to start, and was doing well when I focused. The left lane started to hook too much, so I started playing the 4th arrow (I was standing behind the gutter when I was realeasing the ball). I had limited success with that line, but it is something I need to figure out. I have never had any success moving inside the 3rd arrow, but I need to with the amount of revs I put on the ball. I rolled 192, 242, 210 which is ok, but league is where it counts. (Practice is just practice.)
