I felt a lot more confident tonight as we were getting ready to bowl. However, that did not translate into the scores I anticipated. I had 5 strikes the first game. The problem was that 4 out of 5 of them came on the left lane. I rolled a clean game with one double for a 202. The 2nd game, the lanes transitioned, and I did not make the correct adjustments, and I had 3 splits in a row, and had a total of 4 splits in the 2nd game. I ended up rolling a 164 for the 2nd game. In the 3rd game, I went back to trying to play the outside, and I got a better reaction. (There seemed to be more oil on the lanes than last week, and the same shot that looked good last week didn't appear to work this week.) I had 2 opens the last game (3-6-9-10 and a 6-7 split) and rolled a 184 with a turkey and 2 opens for a 550 series.
I can't be too upset at my bowling. I picked up 1 of my slpits (6-7-10) and didn't miss any easy spares (I only missed 1 spare that wasn't a split, a 3-6-9-10). Even with bowling below my average, we ended up wining all of our games. Everything is relative, and I didn't see anybody getting a lot of strikes. The games tonight came down to a contest of spare shooting. It has also been 3 weeks now that I have gone from 16lb to 14bl equipment, and I am confident that my scores will get back up to where I expect them to be.
