Can't seem to get over the top yet with these new balls. This pair, 29-30, has been one of the tougher pairs in the league and after the first game, I thought I may have conquered the pair. Had to start off with the Virtual Energy due to drier than normal heads. After leaving 2 ringing 10s to start the game (of course I whiffed the first one), I moved a bit deeper and got the breakpoint further down the lane. This resulted in light hits which ripped the rack. This ball carries the light hit very well and I made sure to miss right if I missed my mark. I also have a habit of laying the ball down early on occasion which can prove to be costly as most of these shots went high. Even with the high hits, I only left 1 split, but quite a few 4 pins. The last game started with horrible breaks leaving 2 pocket splits, a 4-10 and 7-10 back to back. With this kind of start, I would be hard pressed to shoot deuce. After getting back to deuce pace in the 7th frame, I left a 7 in the 8th and a ringing 10 in the 9th and managed to convert both. I still needed a double in the 10th since I lost some count to hit 200. I rushed the shot and pulled it leaving a 4-7-10. Now I needed a mark just to shoot 190. Took 9 out and ended with a 180 and a 616 series. I felt that I threw the ball pretty well, but just didn't score. The scoring pace on the pair was low, but the league as a whole had an above average night. At least the team swept and that should move us into the top 5. Next week, 27-28 awaits which is the pair I had my lone 7 on so far.
