Well, the nightmare continues on 25-26. Maybe it part psychological, but after last night, I just think this is a really crappy pair. Tried to play the same flat shot (10 out to 6) that has been very successfull over the last 2 weeks. It was obvious this wasn't going to work unless I really amped up the ball speed. With my back still giving me issues, this was not a possibility. Decided to move in to a 12 out to 5 line. This was marginal at best by the time practice ended. Started the night on 25 which was really moving. Left a 4 pin and converted. Got up on 26 only to leave a pocket 7-10 on a pretty good hit. Took the 7 and moved back to 25. Came in high again, leaving the 4-7. Covered it and left another pocket 7-10 on 26. This really pissed me off. I made what seemed like 2 good shots on 26 and now I sat at 36 in the 3rd. At this point, thought maybe entry angle was too steep on 26, so in the 5th, threw the Mutant Cell. Threw what turned out to be my only strike of the game and shot 164. At the start of the second game, after going with the 2 ball approach up to this point, decided to move my target in deeper and switched back to the Virtual Energy. Ball reaction became very erratic with the same severe wet/dry reaction on I had seen on this pair in weeks past. Sat at 88 in the 4th in the 2nd game with a spare in the 5th. Got up on 26 in the 7th only to throw another pocket split, this time a 4-9. Went for it and whiffed both pins. Stayed clean the rest of the way for a 193. The last game was even more of a nightmare. I tried several different lines and none of these gave the desired reaction. In the 10th, finishing on 25, I moved way in to 4th arrow out to 6 at the breakpoint and punched out. This was line that was needed?? Ended with a 535 series which is my 2nd worst of the year. The only bright spot was that I converted all the non-split spares I had, even a 3-10 baby split or this would have been a sub 500 night. I don't mind throwing bad scores when I don't throw the ball well, but this was beyond anything I have ever seen in league. 31-32 is on tap for next week, and this pair has been one of the best this season, just the medicine I need after this debacle.
