Ebonite man

All I can say is what a difference a week makes. After last week's debacle on 25-26, moved down to 31-32 which has been one of the higher scoring pairs in the league. The back has been feeling a bit better, especially after 3 visits to the chiropractor. The lanes were freshly oiled and the backends stripped, so I expected quite a bit of movement. Tried the usual line of 10 out to 6, but the backends were just too strong. Moved in to a 12 out to 6 line and this looked like the shot. Started the first game with the front 6 and felt in a pretty good groove. Got lazy with the 7th frame shot and pulled it about 2 boards inside the breakpoint and left a Greek Church. I did feel that I may have been a bit off with the ball speed, but the heavier oil kept the ball from overreacting, just a bad shot. Definitely no sign of the wet/dry reaction seen last week. The Virtual Energy was the ball of choice tonight with the better skid threw the heads. Left a 10 pin in the 8th and hung in the spare ball dumping it. Really need to get that T-Zone drilled and a thumb plug put in so the feel in the same for every ball I use. Stayed clean the rest of the way for a 229. The second game was a clean game, and no transition was showing up yet. Ended with a 221. The last game started to show the heads drying a bit and a hint of carrydown, so I switched to the Mutant Cell Pearl. Went strike, 10 pin, strike, 10 pin, 5-bagger to end the game and after a rough start, shot 218 for a 668 series. Both 10 pins were ringing 10s and I managed to convert both. Felt pretty much the same with the way I threw tonight versus last week, but with a much different result. As a team, our 3 week stint in first place has come to an end. Was hoping for 5 of 7 this week, but only got 3. Did punch out to save total pins in the last game which was a plus. The reaction of the Mutant Cell was very good down the stretch. Next week is 33-34 which can be a bit dicey, but the scoring pace is usually above average.
