Ebonite man

This season looks like a lost cause for the team after tonight, but had a really good night individually. Had 37-38 which has been one of the highest scoring pairs in the league. After using the Mutant Cell last week, thought I would give it a shot again this week. Tried the usual 10 out to 6 line and it was obvious this wasn't going to work. The heads were drier and backends moving more than usual, so moved in to 15 out to 8. This was the answer and suprisingly the shot held up all night on the left lane. There was a big target area on 37 and any shot thrown halfway decent was solid. Lane 38 was a different story. The shot here was fairly slick inside and either slower ball speed was needed to get the ball back or getting it out to 3 board. I actually threw a couple of shots I thought were channel bound that bounced back from 1 board and struck. 38 began to transition about the 8th frame of game 2 and the shot became more like 37 making things a whole lot easier. The end result was a 719 series with the only blemish being a chopped bucket. Didn't have high series on the pair as a member of the opposing team shot a 740. Scoring pace for the week in the league was the highest it has been all season. Managed to take second in the doubles pot with a 507 scratch. There were quite a few games in the 250s for the second game which is also a first. One team managed to shoot 935 scratch for a 4 man team and this being a mixed league with averages all over the map, this was also very unusual. With about 6 weeks left, stat padding is probably all that is in the cards. The team will surely drop to the bottom 3 or 4 after getting swept once again. Maybe it is time to experiment next week, although I will still be down on the right side of the house which generally has good carry. If 25-26 was next on the slate, it would definitely be a experimentation night. Next week is 35-36 which plays fairly similar to 37-38, so I expect the results to be nearly the same. Will go with the Mutant Cell the next couple of weeks since I am releasing this ball much better. We'll see------------------------
