Ebonite man

After tonight, I can say I am truly an Ebonite man. Decided to bring the Big One and NVS for 25-26 which has been by far the worst pair we bowl on. Carry historically has been horrific with the new equipment, so I started with the Big One playing a straight up 6 board line just like last week. Got locked in very quickly and the carry issue disappeared with every pocket hit carrying during practice. This carried over into game one with the only non-strike being in frame 2 with a soft 10 resulting in a 280. Struck on the first 2 balls of game 2 and the next shot was wide about 2 boards leaving a bucket on 26. Not surprising as 26 is normally tighter than 25. Got up on 25 only to have a finger grip once again come out and stay on my ring finger. The shot resulted in a 2-8 which I covered using the NVS. What are the odds of that happening 2 weeks in a row?? This time the pro shop was open so I made a quick dash over to get it glued back in before the next shot. Was tentative on the next shot and came in high leaving a 4-7. Even though the last shot was not the greatest, it appeared that the first transition was beginning and the outside line was drying up. Moved left 2 boards on the approach with the same target and this worked for about 2 frames. The next shot drove through too hard and left a 4-9. I surmised another move was needed as there was alot of play from the other team in the line I was trying to play. Moved my target 2 boards left and the ball still came in high leaving a 4 pin. At this point, a ball change was in order and I went to the NVS which has a polished surface hoping to get more skid through the heads. The result was a hambone and after a great 1st game, ended with only a 677 series. It looks like Ebonite equipment works the best for my game as I had not seen this good carry with the Virtual Energy or Mutant Cell. Also, I haven't left a pocket 7-10 in the last 2 weeks either. Next week is 27-28 which has always been one of the higher scoring pair, so expectations are high.
