Shark pattern

Just haven't had the motivation to get out and practice this summer. Finally decided to give the Shark pattern a try this week and what a difference from the Cheetah. This pattern is really long (42 ft) and heavy across the boards. Tried a straight up 10 line and this seems like a good approach at first. My slower ball speed allows me to play this line while the usual play on this pattern is deep inside. Once the oil started to carry down, I started to leave flat 10s. This was using the Mutant Cell which has less skid on the heads versus the Virtual Energy. Made a move inside and looked at a tight 15 out to 12 line which was inside the carry down. Only threw a 6 game block this week, so I was able to finish up with this line. Scoring was much lower than last time as most games were in the high 190s or low 200s. Big strings of strikes were hard to come by as my longest string was only a turkey. The one positive was that most of the spares I left were single pin spares and I made every one (even the 10 pins ). If I were to join a PBA experience league on a regular basis, I would need to dull up one ball to combat the very heavy oil. A polished surface just won't cut it here. Well, don't know if I'll be practicing the rest of the summer. May think about going a week or two before league starts back up on a house pattern with the Ebonite stuff. The VE/MC will be used next for the Hoinke in October. Until August--------
