Ebonite man

It's been a few weeks since my last entry with the Thanksgiving holiday and shopping, haven't had a lot of spare time. May have finally turned the corner with the new lanes. Been staying with the Mutant Cell early on with "fresh" oil (high schoolers moved the pattern around quite a bit) before the start of league play. Had 33-34 last week and 35-36 this week. Both of the these pair are fairly similar with the left lane moving 2-3 boards more than the right. Went with the Mutant Cell on a 10 out to 6 line which has been the norm as of late. Outside of 5 is really dry, so don't want to go out there as the ball will roll out getting it out that far. Speed was more critical as a soft shot will always go high, no more hold room inside either. Had a solid first game with the only non strikes being in the 5th and fill in the 10th. The 5th was costly as I left the 2-5. My tendency was to always throw my strike ball at this spare and this resulted in chopping the 2 off the 5. Need to think about trying to develop a straight line for this spare as I seem to do this a bit too often. Ended up with a 255 out of the gate which is not a usual occurence. The 2nd game started to show the shot breaking down. Threw a bit slow in the 5th only to leave the Greek Church. Was not too upset about it as I knew it was poor execution that resulted in that split. The next shot was the surprise. Hit my mark with decent speed and the ball faced up early and left a 4-7-10. Decided to move my feet left 2 boards with the same target at the arrows. Struck on the next ball after the adjustment and then started to leave soft 10s. This ball just wasn't finishing hard enough on the backends for good angle and carry. Switched to the Total NV in the 3rd game and this fixed the carry problem. Had a 4 pin, solid 8, and ringing 10 with everything else carrying for a 248. The main difference about last night versus previous weeks is that I made adjustments a lot faster and they all turned out with the best possible outcome. This gives me confidence knowing that when I need to make a change, things will pan out. Next week it's back to the left side on 27-28 which has been a decent scoring pair. Still have to deal with the high school team practice for a couple more weeks. After that, we should have a fresh shot which should mean a later transition if at all.
