I have participated in some of the discussions and also have ended up looking further into those topics that are discussed. The next few posts are going to be a combination of one of those topics that I have researched and what conclusions I have made. I am also going to use this to update people on how my league play is going with Lane Lovers Jubilee, which can be viewed by anyone at http://www.leaguesecretary.com/class...standings.aspx. I will also be talking about the last time I went to do some practice during open bowling, which will include trying new techniques or styles in an attempt to further understand what other people are doing as well as work on my own improvement.

Some might ask themselves why they should listen to anything that I post on here. Well to be honest, you don't. What I post are observations and thoughts about various things bowling related. I currently have bowled since I was small as was mentioned in my first post. I also know a far amount about bowling and my knowledge is ever growing due to a sense of wanting to understand things that I am interested in, like bowling. You can never have too much knowledge.

LANE LOVERS JUBILEE UPDATE

With all of that now out of the way here is what happened last Monday on my league. At first the opposing team had a 103 pin handicap. But after two games we found out that one of the other teams bowlers needed to establish their handicap. Which means that we would not know if we won any games or what the handicap was going to be. I found out that this is what happened:

My team, SHOWTIME, had final handicap scores of 586, 527, and 633 for a total of 1746. Team 10, our opponent, had a handicap over us of 83 pins and brought their totals to 634, 639, and 626 for a total of 1899. They took 3 games and we took 1 game. This has moved my team into one game out of 5 place. The top 5 teams get to go to a tournament in Reno at the end of the season. I bowled the following games:

112, 152, 198*, total without HDCP(handicap) 462, Average 132

* means personal high game this season

As you can see, my scores were increasing each game. I like to think that if we had another game I would have bowled a 200+ game. We also later found out that the oiling machine had broken earlier and put down way more oil than it should have. We all were having problems of our ball breaking late. It seemed that the machine malfunctioned and put more oil down closer to the pins than it should have. This was confirmed when a team-mate talked to the maintenance people. If you look at the league sheet you will notice that everyone was bowling lower than their average and also lower from the previous week. So needless to say it was an interesting night. Especially when a team-mate decided to start throwing straight at the head pin. Well, it worked for him so I figured I would give it a try. During the last game, I moved to one dot to the left and aimed at my usual mark, the second arrow from the left. Behold! I was getting the ball right into the pocket and did the following:

I thought to myself that I should have been doing that all night long. What a great game to finish the night with and we won the last game because of it. It was the first time in a long time I left the bowling alley feeling good about how I bowled. I also am being mentioned on the score sheet for this coming Monday because of a handicap game of 283 and a handicap series of 717 for the week. Pretty proud of myself about getting mentioned under top scores for the week.

With how long this has gotten I am going to hold off on my last practice session. Next post will come out Sunday before Mondays league night.
