Wow, can't believe its been over a year since my last entry. This season just came to an end this week and it was quite an eventful one. From a team standpoint, it was very pedestrian finishing in the middle of the pack in both halves. As far as the shot goes, not too much difference from past seasons, with 8 out to about 6 being the norm. A move in to a 12 out to 6 line was needed late in the 2nd game or the beginning of the 3rd, especially when the high school kids were practicing during December-January. Later in the season, a fresh shot was being put down right before the league started. One major problem still remained though- I have never seen so many out of ranges week in and week out as this season. This was true even when it appeared the house was stripping the backends. If I didn't know better, I'd say they were oiling the pindecks! There were a couple of solid pocket shots where the 3 pin slid to the 6 pin spot and stood. After enduring 4-6 weeks of this nonsense, I blew up at the house management. They didn't seem surprised- I must not have been the first one to vent about this. The last 4 weeks of the season, the house must have taken the complaints seriously since I didn't really see it happening much anymore and the pattern held up much longer. Plus, I'm sure they didn't want to lose a 16 team league. During these 4 weeks, I shot 2 300s and a 813 series. The 300s were shot 1 week apart, both with a Storm Virtual Energy. It had been almost 12 years since my last 300 before this which was also with a Storm (Thunder Road). Still not ready to let go of my Ebonite NV, NVS, and Big One just yet though. Based on what I've seen and done myself, the time may be coming soon. Looking at getting a Storm IQ pearl for next season and a matte IQ for heavier oil. No league bowling this summer, just some practice. Got to use these free games up before they expire!
