Now that my singles league is finished, I can concentrate on my doubles. My partner is my 13 year old cousin (Macca) who has been bowling for 2 years and has an average of 143 and a handicap of 49.
My average in this league is 163 and my handicap is37 which has come down from 41 this season.

We go into the last 3 weeks in 5th place 1 point behind 4 and 18 behind 1st so we are going to go for 3rd as we are only 13 points behind and there is 24 to play for but I think 4th is the best we will get but you have got to go for, so tonight we are going for the 8 points and we are playing the bottom team which we have beating 8- 0 before, so here we go game one.

I start ok with a couple of spares but Macca misses his, then I miss a nine pin and then spare and miss again, Macca keeps missing his spares and we are starting to lose ground on the other team (Balls up). Last few frames and I start to pull it together and end with a 158 and Macca gets a little better and finished with a 122 but we have lost by 59 pins, The 3rd placed team (Team Scruff) is playing in the lanes next to us so we can keep a watch on them and we have been helped out as they have lost as well, so we are still only 1 point behind.

On two game two and this is better from me, I start with a triple and then I have a split and pick up 1 pin then spare, but Macca starts in the same vain missing his spares, I pick another spare then have a double, Macca still having trouble but at least he has picked up a spare, I end with a strike and spare, as luck would have it both members on balls up missed the spare on the last frame and Macca hit his so we won the 2nd game by a whole 5 pins, I finished with a better 170 and Macca went down a bit as he ended with a 119 but it is still looking up as team scruff lost again, so we have the advantage by 1 point.

Game 3 and again I start well with a triple but poor old Macca is beginning to feel it and is still missing his spares and he is trying too hard and that is now making his first ball go off. I have a couple of spares and then I miss a 9 pin next ball I pick up an 8 then pick up 1 of the 2 when it should have been a spare, Macca is still struggling to hit anything I finish strong and end with a 194 and Macca ends with a 103 and yes we lost by 63 pins.

That give us a 6 - 2 loss but we have not lost any ground to team scruff as they also lost 6 - 2 so we are still 1 point behind with 2 games to go and we play them next week, at least the one good thing is that I had a series of 522, which is above my average.

Roll on next week and we need to beat team scruff, which we will, but as we both lost a 3rd team (phoenix) has come into the picture as they are now only 3 points behind us, so we will have to win and win well just to hold onto what we have.
