League Meeting

We had our league meeting for my wed night league that is scheduled to start next week. This year this league will be starting without my girlfriend and I.Thsi would be my 1st year in this league so I was happy to try out a new center along with my usual center.. I realized as soon as I walked in the door that I was in for a treat when i saw, or rather heard that the president and secretary really didnt know what in the world they were doing.. They read the rules straight off a peice of paper and when questioned about some they had no answers. It was very sad. I also looked around the room and noticed that there really wasnt any competition in this league either. With the lack of knowledge and no competition I already was not looking forward to this league.. Then they dropped the big bomb on me.. The lanes would not be oiled prior to our league. There is a league that bowls prior to us and we get what is left over after they get done.. That made up my mind, I was not going to pay $22 a week to bowl on a broke down horrible shot. This center is already a lighter oiled center i couldnt imagine how bad it would be after each set had 24 games on them. (4 person team x 3 games).. I spent the day calling around to different centers to see what they have to offer. We have narrowed it down to either a doubles, 3 person, or a 4 person league. We will be sitting through another meeting me week to see how that goes. The only league I know we are shooting for sure is out thurs scratch league. That also will be bowled after a league prior to us, but that center is the heaviest oil shot in the city so so worries there. I have a tournament this weekend in Orlando. I will be keeping a blog while there starting with the drive down.. Also have a trny tomorrow night, last one of these for summer.
