Theoretically, loft is determined by the amount of knee bend when done correctly. Less knee bend at the starting stance should translate to less in the finish position.
Now for the contradiction of your post. A later release is the incorrect way amateur bowlers obtain loft. So if you're releasing later and getting less loft and better roll.......you are normally releasing too early. You ask for more loft after stating that when you're timing is later and have less loft you have better results. If that's the case, why would you want more loft??
As for adjusting timing, it would be easier to make suggestions if I could see you current timing.
