Thread: Looking for a skid/flip ball.

Default Looking for a skid/flip ball.

    Good morning,

I'm looking for some advice finding a good ball to use as a skid/flip ball. I'm currently using a nexxus f(p+r) and for my style it is reading the mid lane way to early. I'm a lefty with low revs (probably around 200-220) and speed of around 17mph, creeping up to 18 if i don't keep my feet slowed down. I was considering a Storm Hy-road, but advice would be appreciated. I've only been back at bowling since April, but grew up bowling without a formal bowling education. I have been in a huge summer slump and really think I need to expand my ball choices. I finished my fall league around 190 avg and currently am averaging 151 in a summer sport league. Any advice would be appreciated. If i need to be more specific about my bowling style I will try my best to answer where I can.

    Thanks
    Eric

Critical Theory, Critical Theory and DV8 Terror. You may want to check out the new NeXXXus... You may notice I like the Critical Theory, though.

I've been looking at the new nexxxus but was worried it would still be too strong, but everything keeps pointing me back to the "xxx".

Yeah, that ball looks like a monster. The thing I like about the Critical Theory is that it hits so hard. I would have to try the XXX and the HR Terror looks like an amazing ball...

All great balls but not too sure if I would classify them as skid/flip. The new XXX is suppose to go longer but with more of an angular hook than the f(p+r) so you won't have to play as deep. The XXX is suppose to also rev up real easy so it would help balance your speed and rev rate. For that style on a THS I would suggest the DV8 Marauder. Sport shots are a whole different world.

If it revs up quicker and helps match my rev rate to my speed I would take that. I'm bowling on several sport patterns exclusively right now but will go back to a THS this fall. I guess it wouldn't need to necessarily be a skid/flip, I guess more specifically something that goes longer through the mids. It seems more and more the Nexxxus might be it.

the nexxxus looks like a nice ball would lvoe to see how it dose going down the lane but the critacal theory would be a good ball too but for me im going to take the theory cause its abit less agressive then the critical theory soo i can play more up the right side some days

OK here you go striker some video of it going down the lane being thrown by different
types of bowlers with different styles and I must say it does look like a pretty impressive
    bowling ball indeed.

I would recommend the Motiv Primal Impulse. I just bought one and it definitely skids and flips but really only starts to shine when the lanes are breaking down and i cannot keep constancy with the Marvel.
