Default What to do with a Storm Vivid?

I was actually looking for a ball for heavy oil when I woke up this morning and found out I won a Storm Vivid. So now I have to wonder, what would be the best way to set it up? I am still a fairly new bowler and don't have a lot of revs, sideroll or ball speed.

I have a Vivid and love the ball. I have mine set up in a highly aggressive manner - pin down and an x hole in the P3 area.

I read about the set ups and I still don't know what any of it means. I have the Vivid and asked the guy to drill it for max hook without a compensation hole. The pin is above and outside my ring finger. What does pin down mean? Below the finger holes?

I think so. Do you have high speed? Is it too strong for you or can you use it for a while without it missing left too much?

Honestly, I'm too new to know what it does, lol. I throw 16-18 for my strikes, 13-15 for my spares. It hooks little at 18mph, but very nicely at 16mph and awesome below that. I'm going for coaching on the 11th to help figure things out.

Edit: of course, oil plays a huge roll in my speed as does my footspeed (thanks to Bill, 1820 and Tampa)

Felt the same way man. As I've stated before, I didn't want the Vivid. I had only bowled seriously 3 times before my buddy convinced me to get my own ball. I had done a little research and figured the Vivid was way too much for my level. I wanted an entry level ball. Went bowling and my buddy said, "let's go look in the pro shop and see what they have." Next thing I know, I bought the Vivid. Still not sure how that happened

If it gets too dry it won't hit left. It will just hit the pocket, or right of it, like it was a feather pillow. You say you have low speed but what about axis rotation and rev rate? Hard to suggest a drilling without ever seeing you bowl.

With low speed, low revs and lack of rotation I would suggest maximum hook and a decent coach
In one session I could have you throwing a 45 degree rotation with average revs providing you're the kind of person that can follow directions.
