My best overall is 16. I had 4 in a row to end a game then a perfect game. I stopped there, and didnt push my luck into another gamer, but i probably should have to see how long i could go. In league play my best is 8.

I got 20-in-a-row one day many years ago (1979) when I bowled my 847 series, back when bowling was bowling...

    x x x x x x x 9/ xxx9
    278

    x 9/ x x x x x x xxxx
    280

    x x x x x x x x xx9/
    289

20 in a row (2nd frame of 2nd game thru first ball in the 10th frame of 3rd game)

Throw 12 in my second game and 6 in my third for 18. First game was a 138 and my third game was a 180 something. Barley broke 600 absolutley disgusting the amount of spares i missed and splits i left.

While I agree that accuracy was more important years ago, I often wonder why people make posts like this implying how much better bowling was "back then" yet they haven't been able to beat, or even ,match their own records with the "easy conditions"

14 strikes, 8 in the last 6 frames, 6 in the first 6 of next game.

I have never actually tracked spares... I do know I had one game 100% spares... so at least 12... I do not know how the game before ended or how the one after started though.

I have heard people in my league say that before too, (older guys) "Bowling aint what it used to be...much easier now with the ball doing all the work for you" ...then go on to exclaim how they remember when they threw their 299 game in 19XX ...just to finish off the night with a 175 average today in 2012... now I am not saying I don't believe that they had a 299 in 19xx.... but why are they no-where near that when the ball is doing all the work for them now.. lol...

Our team captain is 82 years old and has been bowling his whole life... he didn't throw a 200 till he was in his mid 70's ... He, on the other hand, complains about how hard it is to keep up with ball technology and how bowling has become a "game for the young" (I assume he means this in the sense of it is getting more scientific and harder for the older crowd to keep up ..I have never had him elaborate on this though)

Certainly makes me feel better lol. My high is 5 in a row on strikes and 6 in a row on spares. I get 4 in a row quite a few times then I choke lol.

Most strikes I have been able to do is 7. Every time I get that many I start thinking about that 300 game. It messes with my mental game. The day I threw 7 in a row, I kept putting my mind on something else. Plus it helped that on that day a friend was in the hospital having a baby. The kid was born an hour or so after I bowled that game. Most spares I have had, I think, has to be 8 in a row. I don't remember that day as much as the day I threw 7 strikes but it was a special day.
