well from me the karma urathane would be a good ball for short patterns but what i use is a entry lvl ball soo the slingshot would be another option.
but if u say want something little more agressive then go with the brunswick maxxed out its good for med oiled lanes and jsut need to adjsut alittle for dryer lanes

After rereading the post,I would strongly suggest looking into the getting the karma urethane and the C-System Maxxed Out for the following reasons.
1)If team event is anything like i've heard Nationals were your going to need 2 balls.
2)Maxxed out if their is oil on the lanes
3)Karma urethane if their is light to no oil on the lanes.
