    Default My next ball?

It's clear that I need a new ball. I need something much stronger than what's in my bag right now. There is a used (almost new) Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl in the pro shop. It's a great price, so I'm thinking of picking it up. I'm just not 100% sold on it. I really don't have the money to do a brand new ball, but I'm not sure I want to go with a pearl ball. My driller said he can sand it, and make it more aggressive, but I'm not sure if I would want to do that. I really need a ball before my league starts in 3 weeks, do I just get the VGNP, and see if it works for me, or hold out, see if something better comes my way, or just spend too much and get a brand new ball?

well its your choice if you really want the vgnp sanding it would make it abit more agressive but its your choice if u want to get it if you can aford it know and u really want it then get it cause thing of this once u do get the money one day for a new ball then u cna get a new one then and put the polish back on the vgnp.

I'll probably just buy the Nano Pearl, and try it with the factory finish first. If I need a little more, I'll sand it and see how it goes.

How much is it? because bowlingball.com has some good prices on stuff and if you search through the other bowling websites (bowlersparadise.com etc....) you might find something new thats aggressive at a good price. What ball do you have and how aggressive are you talking?

$95, drilled, fingertip grips, switch grip and everything. I don't want to buy a ball off of another web site and bring it to him to drill it. To me, that's not cool. I know if I ran a pro shop, and someone brought in a blank for me to drill, I wouldn't be thrilled. He was telling me it was only used 5 games or so, by a left hander. So it's basicly a brand new ball. I told him to go ahead and drill it for me, I'll take a shot.

$95 including the switch grips, that's a pretty good deal I wouldn't pass that up.

As for bringing in a blank to get drilled, the shop makes money on that.

Yeah I'm gonna pick it up this week. I would feel odd bringing in a blank. I've been going to the same driller for 2 years. It wouldn't seem right to bring in a ball cause I can save $15. Now, if I win a ball here, that's a different story, although I don't think I'll ever win.

For that price I would jump at it. Even if it is a Storm ball lol.
That ball is pretty aggressive as is so I was glad to read that you were going to try it with the factory finish first. I'm actually late getting on here due to deep cleaning and resurfacing (back to factory finish) four of my balls tonight. US Open pattern tomorrow and Wednesday so I wanted to be prepared.

The VGNP is a heavy oil ball. Watch the reaction closely so you can tell if it's using all the energy before it hits the hook or even the roll phase. I would be more concerned that it would be too aggressive for a THS during league rather than not aggressive enough. If unhappy and possible, videotape a few league rolls so your pro can see what the ball is doing. I would just hate to see you end up going the wrong way with the surface and waste all the money you're saving trying to get it to work correctly for you.
