That ball is pretty aggressive as is so I was glad to read that you were going to try it with the factory finish first. I'm actually late getting on here due to deep cleaning and resurfacing (back to factory finish) four of my balls tonight. US Open pattern tomorrow and Wednesday so I wanted to be prepared.

The VGNP is a heavy oil ball. Watch the reaction closely so you can tell if it's using all the energy before it hits the hook or even the roll phase. I would be more concerned that it would be too aggressive for a THS during league rather than not aggressive enough. If unhappy and possible, videotape a few league rolls so your pro can see what the ball is doing. I would just hate to see you end up going the wrong way with the surface and waste all the money you're saving trying to get it to work correctly for you.
I was thinking it may be too aggresive as well, now that I am starting to get more revs. I was just going by what the shop pro said. He brought up sanding it, but I think he was thinking it needed to be super aggresive, cause the last time he saw me bowl I had no revs at all. I'll have him leave the factory finish, and if it's too aggresive for THS, it will be great on some sport patterns whenever I get around to doing those. If I need a less aggresive ball, at least those are a little cheaper. I know he even has a RotoGrip Outlaw sitting there as well. I could buy both, and still spend less than getting one new ball.

The Outlaw isn't a bad ball for the house shots around here. You have wood lanes?

i jsut thought of one thing rocco are you getting it redrilled or are u going with the drilling thats already on it cause if u do get it redrilled it will hook alittle less then if it was only drilled once and cause you will be taking out more of the core ik this cause my one hammer ball is drilled 3 times because of the first 2 times the ball would not hook at all but works great know

Yes, wood lanes. Yes, the ball needs to be redrilled, it was drilled for a lefty.

rocco if it was for a lefty u cant easly take advatnage by only moving the thumb and putting thumb grips in it all you have to do is maby get the fingers opened up alittle more if they dont have finger grips.

soo then u wont be taking away from the core as much unless u want to get it drilled compleatly different.

In regard to the ball being plugged, Don't worry about it.

According to Mo Pinel there have been studies done that show that a plugged/redrilled ball with a new layout has essentially no change in ball motion to a NIB ball that was drilled w/the new layout.

It's only been plugged once, the plugs shouldn't be anywhere near your track.

Get it redrilled and try it at the box surface. If it's too strong, go to a smoother finish and/or hit it with a coat of polish, at the most you could have a P1 or P2 hole punched to reduce the dynamics some if really needed.

yeah he dose want it less agressive abit but the ball will do the job threw 3 games i have thrown one befor it lasted 4 games for me but the last game was a bad game i was hitting the pocket alittle to ahrd cause it was catching hard and moving in fast that the pin action was going way to far forward where the 1pin is and the 2 and 3 pins that i kept leaving up the 5 pin and some 7 and 10 pins

Just rang him up, and he is doing the Nano, and the Outlaw for me. I can't wait until they are done! I'll probably also have him plug, and re drill my 607a as well.
