    Default Kansas city bowler

Hi all, after a 8 year hiatus due to school, work and a bs relationship. I'm getting back into bowling. I dont have too much experience less then 8 months with my own ball, my Highest game is 230. I really want to knock this rust off and maybe join a winter league. It would be my first league, the only thing that is making me think twice about it is with my limited experience i'm afraid i might do something stupid lol. I'v rolled 5 games since catching the bug again. rolled a 180 right off the bat but after my second game blisters started to show on my middle finger because my ball need new plugs and to be re drilled because I had grown a bit since being measured for my ball.
I roll with a old purple quantum 14 pounder. I think I'm a tweener that leans more towards stroker.

Welcome back! Don't worry about doing something stupid. If we let the fear that others will think we're stupid or crazy stop us we'd never try anything new.
Explain to the person at the counter at your local center that you're just getting back to bowling and want to join a league. They should be able to suggest one or more leagues that will meet your needs.

Welcome! You'll get your skill back in no time. I just started again in December after a 5 year break and in just a few months, I'm bowling by far the best I ever have and hope to continue getting better. There is a few other Kansas City bowlers, including myself, on this site. What bowling alley do you usually bowl at?

Welcome fellow KC bowler! I grew up in Blue Springs, but never got into the bowling scene when I lived there. Feel free to ask questions, there are lots of helpful people on this site.

Also, talk to the pro shop owner or local professional and see if a heavier bowling ball might work better for you.

Welcome to the boards. Join the league and have a blast. All of us on the lanes are still learning so don't worry about it. Nobody has ever averaged 300 yet. Your center manager will/should be more than happy to help you get into a suitable league.
