    Default Dirty Back Ends

I bowl with two fingers in the ball leaving my thumb out. I know it is not the norm but I bowl best this way! I carried a 174 average for the summer league. I throw a ball speed around 16.5-17.3 playing down and in with high rev rate. Last night we were bowling and the back ends were horrible I had to slow the ball down just to get any kind of reaction on the back end. My first game 174 and my second was a 238. I would like to be more consistant when the lane conditions are like this. Any help will be great. i know it will be hard for anyone to give me advise without watching me bowl but I can try what is recommended and reply with my scores and how it worked out.

I think you're having more issues with palming the ball than lane condition. You just don't have as much control over your ball as you would with your thumb in.

Palming the ball really isnt the issue. in our local house when the backends are dirty all bowlers have issues with the ball reacting. I hear that i dont have control over the ball everytime I tell someone how i bowl and then when they see me bowl that is never brought up again. So fetus what do you do when you your ball does not perform on the back end like it should.

You can try increasing the surface on the ball and playing closer to the pocket.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

I will try that im thinking of getting Mission 2.0 and getting the same lay out a friend of mine has on his I used it one night when i was subbing and struck out from 4th frame. That night the back ends were horrible.

Might get my hammer Infection plugged and get a diff. layout. Also get the ball redone to out of the box finish and see if it performs better.

Might look at layouts with smaller angle sums and lower angle ratios, with a strong balance hole location, plus some surface. The main thing will be to get the ball started.

Maybe try slowing down your ball. and also my friend has mission 2.0. i think this ball would be perfect for you. How do you bowl during league when there is more oil?

You might go back and reread his post. He was slowing his ball down, that's how he got it to work. It's not a problem with no oil, it has to do with the dirty backends that are not hooking.

Could you explain what you mean by increase the surface? Does that mean change the finish on the ball, or throw it differently?
