Is it okay if I get it drilled with a generic PAP or neutral layout, or can that potentially ruin the reaction?
Yes you can have the ball drilled with a generic PAP
or have what we call a safe drill done on it but why
in the world would you want to do that to a ball like
the Storm Modern Marvel?
As for the reaction it will just be a generic reacting ball
if it has no fine tuning and I wouldn't want to waste a
nice ball like that myself.

But if I weren't to do generic then how would I choose what I want it to do?
Great ball! Keep it clean and you will really like it for a long time. as for the generic PAP, I would say find your PAP using a different ball then get that baby drilled up. Doing otherwise would seem to me like using a brand new BMW 7 series as a tractor...

Tweener; PAP= 4.75 over x .75 up/Tilt 10 degrees/Axis of rotation 40 degrees/Revs = 368 and speed is 16.86 MPH average.
I suggest drilling it for length with controlled backend.

I didn't realize balls were that sensitive to layout. I just worry that over time if I change how I release the ball (hopefully better) it will ruin the ball's layout.Originally Posted by The German Shepherd

I like that video.. I thought it was going to criticize pro shops for not doing layouts but it basically emphasized it won't matter for me.
Your posts to this point have all made sense to me so I have to ask, why? Have you seen him bowl?

Got my ball drilled tonight. He put a balance hole in it too. Feels great, I'm so happy there is a good driller in my town.
