Neither of your pics loaded but out in the country all I have is a slow internet connection. The only thing I miss from the city, high speed internet.

I couldn't look at the picture you posted bowl120,
I'll look at my ball again tomorrow I'm about to call it a night, got a big day ahead of me tomorrow.
goodnight;
I love the look of that ball
I'm looking at the ball right now and it's how you said
O O *
O
the dv8 logo engraved that Bill was talking about I found,
it's near the white dot
it's like this
O O
*
(**) ** = dv8 sign,
O
the picture is exaggerated, the dv8 sign is really small but it's a little left of the white dot
about 2 inches or so down from the white dot and about 1/4 of an inch to the left
Given the information supplied, in my opinion, the ball is drilled for neither. Given the pin to CG I don't think that layout would work for anybody BUT it was clearly intended for a right handed bowler.

I'll just about agree with this.
With that short of a pin to cg distance,That is what's called a "Pin in" ball. With where it's located it really wouldn't matter if you were a righty or a lefty.
I'll go as far as saying that it's might be a lefty drill. Because I had a ball like that one time, "Pin in". Layed out like this (I'm a righty by the way. it was my dry lane ball)

So this could be a lefty layout
