All my experience with sanding is with wood or metal, and I haven't gotten to the point of playing with different surfaces on my bowling balls. From what I've read, when a bowling ball is sanded the higher grits do not completely eliminate the sanding marks from the lower grits as you would try to do in wood finishing. There is probably some difference between your ball and a true OTB surface. It may be that, given the number of games on your Mission 2.0 the one pass with 2000 grit is close enough.
