That the backend is no longer clean & dry, there is oil tracks, carrydown etc and the balls don't hook as well. If you see pins slide and not fall down a lot, that means the pin decks are "dirty" oil has got on to the pin deck.

Also what does it mean when they say in ball drill layouts descriptions when it says lane conditions fresh back ends and wet/dry?
That the layout is good for "Fresh backends" means it works best when the backends are clean and dry. Usually when they have a fresh oiled shot out, no one has bowled on.

That the layout is good for "wet/dry" Typically it would be referring to using the ball on a shot where the inside part of the lane is very wet and the outside is very dry.

On this condition if you tug the ball, it will just sit in the oil and hardly react at all missing the headpin. If you get the ball out right too much, it will hook too much hitting the nose or going brooklyn.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

Could'nt have said it any better! Nothing is more frustrating then wet/dry conditions.
