The DV* is supposed to give a strong and continuous back end while the Karma Pearl is supposed to give a more medium reaction. Just the same I would go with the Misfit. Everyone I know that owns one loves theirs.

Yep, more ball questions for the group, this time I'm asking on behalf of my girlfriend.
My girlfriend has told me she wants to get a new ball and she wants one with a smaller and smoother back end reaction rather than a real strong or angular one. She is a stroker-style bowler with a ball speed (according to the machine at the alley) of about 14mph or so, and a low rev rate - lower than mine which is already low to begin with. I've shown her the ball reaction videos on bowlingball.com for both balls and she's not sure which one she should go with - she really likes the look of the Karma Pearl (she loves purple, it's her favorite color) but she wants to choose a ball based on how well it will knock down pins, not just how pretty it is. We do mostly open bowling now, but are looking at joining a league soon. Of these two, which ball would you recommend or is there not enough of a difference to really matter? I'm pretty sure I already know Bill's answer on this one...
Thanks everyone!

I would say DV8 Misfit! The Karma Pearl if I recall is a urethane ball and best suited for dry lane conditions. Another good ball is the Slingshot or Cyclone!

The reckless showed great results, i didn't like the Misfit when I threw it. -_-
I didn't have the backend I wanted, and the Reckless does ( maybe sometimes a little too much) haha, but still I am now being able to control it by adding more speed.
You should have just posted I'm getting my girlfriend a DV8 ball and nipped this thread in the bud.![]()
I just got my girlfriend a 13lb misfit and she loves it! thats what i recommend
What did you think I would say?
Dry lanes that are usually found during open bowling-the Karma Pearl
Oiled lanes like usually found during league play-the Misfit
Has she seen all the color possibilities with the Misfit and that it glows under the black lights?

K, with all the dv8 love around here did you really expect a different answer?
but i do think the misfit is the better ball, one of the left handed bowlers in my league has one and it looks great going down the lane with a lower rev rate
