    Default Where I started bowling

This is the place I first started bowling at, Louies Bowling Lanes about 20 years ago. Was there today for the first time in years, for my little nephews birthday party. Those are the same lanes from back then! wood lanes with guardian overlay.

They at least got a new Qubica system in, it's so new they they don't know how to run it.

One other thing still hasn't changed, they put oil down.

Those oil lines are 1/2" wide and that's just open bowling oil.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

This didn't show as a new post so I'm glad you directed me here from another thread. Anyway, I like the way it looks. Clean and not overly loud decor. Nice and cozy with 14 lanes.
One question; why didn't they place the ball returns further away from the approaches.

Beats me, it was like that before I started bowling there.

Most of the centers I've been to have the returns about halfway up the approach. As much as they get in the way I was always curious as to why that location. I always thought it had to be from the equiptments ability to return the ball another three feet. More likely due to how small the older places are/were compared to the newer facilities.

It's eerie how similar that looks to our local 12 lane center where I started bowling and spent many years of my youth.. Just went back there a few weeks ago with my brother, not much has changed except the computer systems as well.
