No replies after all this time? I had mine drilled pin up to stay long and it works great for me. Hopefully you got them to watch you throw a few and take measurements off your ball and it works out well for you.
The new DV8 Marauder is here, and I'll be getting it drilled tonight!! Can't wait to see the difference this ball is going to make!
What are some things I should be sure to ask about/have done at the Pro Shop tonight? It's been 10 years since I had a ball drilled and back then I had no idea other than I wanted a fingertip grip. I'm hoping they can watch me bowl a few frames first but if not, what should I tell them so the ball is drilled right? I'm excited but also a little nervous about this...

Sorry but I didn't see this thread until now but chances are I didn't get home from work until after you left anyway.

Well, last night went very, very well. The shop I went to was extremely knowledgeable and the ball is a perfect fit. They couldn't watch me bowl because it was league night and all the lanes were taken up for that, but after asking me what kind of reaction I was looking for, he drilled it to match. Took it to another alley to try out and I gotta say I'm impressed with this ball. It's going to take a little getting used to because my old ball has NOTHING on this ball for reaction, but even though I spent much of the evening getting a feel for the new ball I still shot a 203 with it. Other games last night ranged from 150-170. My thumb got hung up in it a couple times because I'm used to my old ball and was squeezing the new one, but if I catch myself doing that and keep my thumb straight, my strike ball feels almost effortless, and even if I miss my target arrow by a couple of boards, this ball still finds the pocket and the pin reaction is awesome. I got quite a few strikes last night that I would not have with my old ball, so I'm extremely happy with this ball. Definitely worth the coin.
Next step for me once I feel completely comfortable with the new ball is to upload a video so I can get pointers on my physical game. Thanks to all who helped me choose the ball and for all the great advice!
Congrats on finally getting to throw your DV8. Like everyone around here had told you, the balls are amazing. I have noticed that it's a very forgiving ball if you miss your mark too. Somehow it manages to find it's way back to the pocket. When you do hit a pocket shot though it's 10 in the pit.
Congrats with the new ball, did you get the regular marauder or the marauder madness?
I got the Marauder. Really enjoying it so far but I need to learn how to throw it properly without squeezing it. Messed up my thumb a little bit because the thumb hole is smaller than I'm used to having.
The Madness won't be released until the end of the month.
